Dane Co. deputies have arrested an alleged heroin dealer following a fatal overdose.

Authorities responded to 400 Pleasant View Drive in the Town of Dunkirk the night of July 4th after a 25-year-old man was found unconscious in his home. He was taken to the hospital, but was pronounced dead.

Deputies say they found clear evidence of heroin use in the home, and that 26-year-old Robbert Knipfer was likely responsible for supplying the heroin that caused the death.

Detectives took Knipfer into custody Monday, July 7th. He is currently in jail on a probation hold.

Investigators are awaiting the Medical Examiner's report and toxicology results to determine additional charges.
