The Madison School District isn't getting as much state aid next year as it had planned on.
An expected $2.6 million dollar increase in aid is about $5.6 million dollars less than anticipated. DPI officials say the number could change by October. That is when student enrollment numbers are in.
Still, school officials may be faced with the task of scaling back the district's budget for next year.
The Madison School Board approved a preliminary budget for the 2014-15 school year last month.
