Madison, WI.  Sunday, July 14, 2013 –

At approximately 10:51 p.m., Dane County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to 1315 Remington Street., in the Village of Black Earth, for a  pickup truck which had driven off of the street and struck a front corner of the house. Information also revealed a domestic disturbance had been in progress.

Upon the deputies’ arrival, the suspect driver had fled the scene on foot. A short time later, the suspect driver, Jason M. Zander, 37 of Black Earth, returned to the scene. Deputies initiated standardized field sobriety tests on Zander. He failed the tests and was subsequently arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Intoxicants – 5th Offense. Zander consented to an evidentiary sample of his blood. The result of the blood test is pending.

Zander was also arrested for Domestic Disorderly Conduct and Domestic Criminal Damage to Property. Citations were issued to Zander for Reckless Driving, Operating after Revocation, and Hit and Run Property Adjacent to Highway.

Zander was booked into the Dane County Jail awaiting his initial appearance for the felony OWI charge. There were no injuries reported. The damage to the house and 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was minor.
