DEERFIELD - More than 50 chickens were killed in the Town of Christiana near Deerfield this morning, the result of a pole shed fire.

The Dane County Sheriff's Office says the blaze was called in around 4:30 Sunday morning along State Highway 73.

Fire departments from Deerfield and Cambridge responded and found the 20-by-30-foot pole shed fully engulfed.

Early investigations indicate the fire resulted from electrical issues. No foul play is suspected and no injuries were reported.

In a separate incident, two people were hospitalized Saturday afternoon after an undescribed disturbance at a Town of Deerfield home.

The Dane County Sheriff's Office says it is still investigating the disturbance, which was reported at 1:49pm yesterday.

Though few details have been released, authorities are confident there is no current danger to the public.

The identities and conditions of those involved have not been released, as the matter is still being investigated.
