Up until now, the manner of death for Waunakee native Kelly Nolan has been listed as "pending". On Wednesday, the death certificate was amended to say the 22 year old woman died from blunt force trauma to her torso.
No reason was given by the Dane County Medical Examiner's Office on what prompted the move to update Nolan's death certificate at this time.
The time, date adn place of the injuries that caused Nolan's death are still listed as "unkonwn".
Nolan was the subject of a 16 day search after she went missing in the summer of 2007 during a night out in Madison. Her body was found just outside of Oregon.
Nolan had been a student at UW-Whitewater. She had recently moved to Madison and lived Downtown at the time of her death.
