A deal has been struck between Fitchburg and Dane County over the reconstruction of a rough stretch of Highway PD. County Executive Joe Parisi says they'll spilt the cost of the $3 million project. It's a more extensive fix that addresses drainage issues that led to some of the problems with the road during the harsh winter. The proposal has Fitchburg taking over snow removal on the stretch of PD between Verona and Fish Hatchery Roads in the winter of 2016-17. Initially, the county had proposed paying for the project but requiring the city to do maintenance. Both the Dane County Board and Fitchburg City Council need to approve the deal.
