Deputy stops drunken teenage driver for speeding at 100 mph

A Dane Co. deputy stopped a 17-year-old driver Sunday morning for traveling 100 mph on the westbound beltline.

The deputy made the stop around 6:40 a.m. near the Rimrock Road exit.

Authorities say 17-year-old Hilario Lopez-Xelhua of Madison was drunk, and had open intoxicants in the vehicle.

After field sobriety tests, the deputy arrested Lopez-Xelhua for Operating While Intoxicated -1st offense, Operating Without a License – 3rd Offense, Open Intoxicants, Speeding and No Seatbelt.
