MADISON - A City of Madison employee is recovering today after being hit by a drunk driver while on the job.

The city water works employee, whose identity has not been released, was part of a crew fixing a water main break on the 1900-block of South Stoughton Road when an out-of-control vehicle came barreling through the work site. Warned by a co-worker of the on-coming vehicle, the victim avoided a direct hit and only suffered a broken bone.

50-year old Patrick Klitzman has been charged with causing injury while operating a vehicle intoxicated.
