MADISON - Ice fishing shanties on most Madison area lakes must be cleared off the ice by Monday.

The Department of Natural Resources mandates that all shanties on lakes south of Highway 64 in Wisconsin be removed by tomorrow. Those on lakes north of that geographical mark have until March 17.

The DNR has said it will grant some extensions to individuals whose shanties have become frozen to the lakes during this season's harsh winter.
