The victim of the crash has been identified as 37 year old Timothy McKinley of Milton.  McKinley was the dean of students at Sennett Middle School on Madison's East Side.

At 6:34 AM on Tuesday January 21, 2014 a crash occurred on I-39 SB at MILE MARKER 171 in


No assisting agencies were reported.

The crash involved 1 fatality and 1 injury.


The details of the crash are as follows:

Semi unit traveling eastbound on I-39/90 struck a SUV at approximately 6:30 am. The crash occurred at milepost 171 on the railroad overpass bridge. Witnesses stated the SUV was originally traveling westbound but went through the median and entered eastbound traffic.

The semi unit was unable to come to a complete stop before colliding with the SUV. The SUV was occupied by one male, the driver. The driver of the SUV was unresponsive at the scene and later pronouced deceased at Janesville Mercy Hospital.

The driver of the semi unit suffered non-life threatening injuries. The interstate was temporarily blocked eastbound. No names are being released at this time.
