A Madison East High School student was injured after he was run over by a Head Start school bus while skateboarding in the road Thursday.
Police say part of the 16-year-old boy's body ended up under the bus, though it's not clear how. The driver heard a thud and stopped. The injuries are said to be non life-threatening.
A preliminary investigation indicates the driver was not at fault. It is illegal to skateboard on the road.
The accident happened on North Fourth Street, around 12:15 p.m.
