Madison's new police chief is officially on the job. Mike Koval was sworn in Wednesday. Koval has spent the past 17 years with the department training and recruiting officers. And he says he'll continue to stay hands on with the police force. Koval also sends the message, "forget the past and don't agonize over the future". Koval says he wants officers to focus on what the department is doing now, in terms of community policing. Some interesting tidbits from the new chief's past. He is a Madison West grad, and wore the school's "Reggie Regent" mascot uniform. From there, Koval went on to wear the "Bucky Badger" costume. He also has a sting as an agent with the FBI.
