July 3, 2013 UPDATE: Madison police believe an inmate who escaped from Mendota late Tuesday afternoon is out of the area.

After 4 p.m., 30 year old Graham Stowe walked away from the mental health facility. Local law enforcement tracked him about six miles away, in the Waunakee area, into the night.

July 2, 2013- MADISON-Wis.--Police in the Madison area are looking for an inmate who managed to escape from a Madison mental institute.

Graham L. Stowe was being held at Mendota Mental Health Institute on a case from Brown County, according to an email from the Madison Police Dept.

Stowe was committed for Bail Jumping, three counts of False Imprisonment, First Degree Reckless Endangerment and Felony Intimidation of a Victim.

Stowe is 30 years old, 5'7" and weighs 150 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. Police say Stowe is violent and if you see him to call 911
