Dane Co. deputies arrested two men after a burglary at Dane Electric in the Village of Dane. One was arrested after being spotted on the Merrimac Ferry.

Deputies responded to a burglary in progress around 1:50 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say the suspects had fled with four stolen guns and a number of power tools.

An alert neighbor captured photos of their vehicle. Deputies used the information from the photos to alert other agencies.

A Merrimac Ferry operator was listening to a police scanner, heard the information and recognized the suspect vehicle on his ferry.

He called authorities and delayed the ferry's arrival to shore until Sauk Co. deputies arrived. 28-year-old Lucas Wille of Merrimac was taken into custody. Deputies say stolen property was recovered from his vehicle.

Deputies found the second suspect, 23-year-old Collin Schubert, as he left his home in the Village of Dane. Authorities say he was armed with a handgun reportedly stolen in the burglary. Deputies say they found additional items from the burglary in his home.

Both men are in jail on charges of burglary while armed.
