On Friday, December 27, 2013, at approximately 4:13pm, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a road rage incident on USH 18/151 in the Town of Springdale. The victim, who was a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on USH 18/151, reported a black, Subaru was tailgating and swerving toward the vehicle she was in. At one point during the incident, the driver of the Subaru pulled along the passenger side of her vehicle and pointed a handgun directly at her.

Dane County Deputies responded to the area and located the Subaru within one minute of being assigned the call. With the assistance of officers from the Verona Police Department, a high risk traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver and a passenger. Both individuals were interviewed and a search of the vehicle was conducted, which produced a .40 caliber handgun.

The driver of the Subaru, Nathan M. Pike, age 25 of Middleton, was subsequently arrested for 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Disorderly Conduct While Armed and Reckless Driving. Pike is currently being held in the Dane County Jail.
