MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Milwaukee Public Schools will be closed Monday due to the extreme cold.

The district announced the closing on its website. The closing includes all after-school activities.

School administrators across Wisconsin are weighing whether to cancel classes for Monday. The coldest air of the season is predicted for Sunday night through Tuesday.

Gov. Scott Walker is monitoring the situation and considering whether to cancel classes statewide. In Minnesota, Gov. Mark Dayton says all public schools statewide would be closed Monday.
