Rock County investigators reportedly found 16 pounds of marijuana and roosters used for fighting at an address in the Town of Newark.

Authorities executed a search warrant at 8424 West Mill Pond Road Tuesday. It was part of a four-month long investigation.

Deputies reportedly found 61-caged roosters on the property along with items indicating they were bred for fighting.

Veterinarians evaluated the roosters, and determined that none were in need of immediate medical care.

During the search of the property, authorities discovered a small, concealed crawl space in the floor of the home. There they found 15-vacuum sealed packages of processed marijuana.

The home owner, 37-year-old Jorge Marquez, was arrested. He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
