UPDATE 05/22/13

The president of McFarlanes in Sauk City pledged to rebuild following the fire earlier this week.

The True Value hardware store was destroyed in Monday's three alarm-blaze. The manufacturing area of the complex was not affected by the fire. Nobody was hurt.

The cause remains under investigation.

McFarlane's opened in Sauk City in 1918.

Firefighters from more than a dozen departments helped Sauk City put out a fire in a building that houses a hardware, small engine and tire store.

Investigators will be looking for the cause of the three-alarm fire at McFarlanes, on South Water Street, that started late Monday and burned into the early morning hours today. No injuries have been reported.
