CHARGES: Resisting An Officer

Madison College

On 12/17/2013, police responded to Madison College reference a trespassing complaint. There had been several complaints of a man changing in the restroom by patrons of Madison College. Campus Security Officers pointed out a male subject, later identified as Roosevelt Iler, who was said to be heavily intoxicated, and was seated in a toilet stall. The officers told Iler that he needed to gather his belongings, and leave the property, as he was not a student nor was he conducting any relevant business with the academic institution.

Iler stated he was going to take his time lacing up his boots, and not only was he not going to identify himself, he had no intention of leaving until he was ready. The officer located what was described as "urine soaked jeans" on the floor of the bathroom, believing they were the property of Iler, and hopefully contained some sort of identification. Iler attempted to snatch his jeans from the officer, and he found himself pinned up against a nearby wall. Iler continued to struggle with the officers, and he was finally taken into custody on the charge listed
