Winter weather advisory for Madison area from noon Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday

From the National Weather Service:

...SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW EXPECTED TODAY AND TONIGHT...

.SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD SOUTHERN WISCONSIN BY THE NOON HOUR...AND
CONTINUE INTO TONIGHT. A LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND WILL BRING A QUICK
COUPLE OF INCHES OF SNOW TO PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN NEAR
LAKE MICHIGAN THROUGH THE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS.

SEVERAL INCHES OF LIGHT AND POWDERY SNOW IS EXPECTED...WITH
LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS IN SHEBOYGAN AND OZAUKEE COUNTIES...DUE TO
LAKE ENHANCED SNOW. LOW PRESSURE AND RELATIVELY WARMER AND MOIST
AIR MOVING INTO THE REGION WILL GENERATE THE LIGHT AND POWDERY
SNOW.

AFTER THE SNOW ENDS ON MONDAY...BRISK AND GUSTY WESTERLY WINDS
WILL CAUSE SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. THEREFORE SOME ROADS
WILL REMAIN SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY....ESPECIALLY THOSE
ORIENTED NORTH/SOUTH.

INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...BERLIN...FOND DU LAC...PORTAGE...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST
MONDAY.

* TIMING...LIGHT SNOW WILL DEVELOP ACROSS SOUTHERN WISCONSIN AND
BECOME WIDESPREAD BY THIS AFTERNOON. MODERATE SNOW WILL THEN
OCCUR AT TIMES INTO TONIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...3 TO 5 INCHES OF LIGHT AND POWDERY SNOW.
THE LOWER AMOUNTS WILL BE TOWARD THE ILLINOIS BORDER.

* IMPACTS...THE SNOWFALL ALONG WITH COLD TEMPERATURES WILL
RESULT IN ROADS QUICKLY BECOMING SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY.
AFTER THE SNOW ENDS ON MONDAY...BRISK AND GUSTY WINDS WILL
CAUSE SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. THEREFORE SOME ROADS
WILL REMAIN SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW
WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW
COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
