Second Arrest Made in Live Assault of Teen

Madison police say they have arrested a second suspect in connection with the sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl broadcast on Facebook

The second suspect is Kashawn Redus, age 21, of Madison. He faces several charges, including 2nd Degree Sexual Assault. That's the same charge given to Sean Reason, age 25, the first suspect police arrested last week. Reason was charged in Dane County court last Friday and his bail was set at $75,000.

As 27 News reported last week, authorities are also looking for two others in connection with this crime: Lashaun Cole, age 20, of Sun Prairie, and Sema Pruitt, age 17, of Madison. Arrest warrants have been issued for both men.

Police say the teen victim told detectives several men repeatedly assaulted her inside a Moorland Road apartment. The police investigation is ongoing.

Assistant Dane County District Attorney William Brown said during Reason's court appearance last Friday the teen victim was held captive, and sexually assaulted "...by eight to ten guys,"  with the crimes being broadcast over Facebook.  Brown also said those involved can be seen waving guns during the broadcast.

A criminal complaint filed in the case says the teenager told authorities what happened was part of a gang initiation.
