Inmate accused in attack on Dane County deputy

MADISON, Wis. (AP) _ An inmate charged with homicide and armed robbery is accused of attempting to strangle a deputy at the Dane County Jail.

Sheriff's officials say Curtis Langlois was in full restraints when he attacked the female deputy while being taken to his cell on Monday. The 37-year-old inmate was in an elevator with three deputies when he began yelling and threatening the female deputy.

Authorities say he began struggling with all three deputies but was able to get his handcuffed hands around the neck of the female deputy and began choking her. Deputies eventually regained control and took Langlois to segregation. The deputy was treated at a hospital and released.
