Several deaths in Madison area could be due to cold

The cold could be the culprit in several deaths in the Madison area since late last week.   A 57 year old man, who walked away from a local hospital, was found dead in a downtown parking ramp on Sunday morning. Police say he was not dressed for the frigid conditions. He was wearing a light jacket, a ball cap and no gloves.

On Friday, a 60 year old man was found in distress outside of a business on East Olin Avenue.  He had on a jacket, but no hat or gloves. Madison Fire paramedics arrived to transport him to a hospital. While en route he lost his pulse and was later pronounced dead at the medical facility.

And in Sun Prairie, also last Friday, an 84 year old woman was found outdoors of an assisted living facility.
