Detective: Suspect in Visions shooting fired gun after being stabbed

The shooting incident at Visions nightclub where five people were injured began with an altercation between Cole Foster and another man.

During a court hearing Wednesday for Foster, a detective testified that during an altercation that broke out about 1:45 a.m. Dec. 9, the other man stabbed Foster in the head.

Foster then pulled a gun and shot the man. He continued to shoot as the man crawled away, injuring three others in the process.

Foster then left the club to go to the hospital, where hospital officials notified police.

Foster’s attorney said Foster shot in self defense, but Foster was bound over for further court proceedings.

Judge John Hyland also denied a motion for reduced bail, meaning Foster likely will remain locked up.

Foster’s bail was set $100,000 during an earlier court hearing.

Foster, 35, is charged with with first-degree recklessly endangering safety as well as disorderly conduct.

Another man, Spencer Jackson IV, was arrested after police say he showed a gun during the fracas, but did not fire it.
