Police warn residents of robberies on Woodlane Drive in Janesville

Police in Janesville are warning residents about several armed robberies in one part of town.

Since December 20, there have been three of the crimes in the 2800 and 2900 blocks of Woodlane Drive.

Police say all of the robberies happened after 11 p.m. and have a number of similarities:

• The suspect was described as approximately 5’6” tall male black or hispanic, with a slim build.He wore dark clothing, and concealed his face with a bandanna, ski mask or similar.• Produced a handgun with a black frame and a silver colored slide.• Two of the victims were struck in the head with the handgun during the robbery.• The suspect confronted the victims while they were walking in the area and demanded their money, or property.

Officers want everyone to protect themselves from becoming a victim by walking in pairs, being aware of your surroundings and reporting suspicious activity to the police.
