Law enforcement on scene of criminal investigation in Walworth County

Dozens of law enforcement officers have been on a farm near East Troy Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation.

Speculation grew throughout the day that officials may have found Jayme Closs, the Barron County girl who went missing after her parents were found murdered.

However late Thursday, Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said the investigation was not connected to Kloss’s disappearance and that she had not been found.

The Franklin Police Department in a news release said that an ongoing criminal investigation led their officers to Walworth County.

The investigation is active and ongoing and is being conducted along with the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office and the Village of East Troy Police Department, according to the news release.

A WISN 12 News photojournalist saw a medical examiner’s vehicle at the scene.
