All lanes reopen on Interstate near Beltline

UPDATE (WKOW) — The eastbound Beltline ramp to southbound I-39/90 and lanes surrounding that area are reopened after they were closed because of deteriorating road conditions.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation said lanes were cleared at 2:25 a.m. Friday.

Crews started working on the problem Wednesday evening.

MADISON (WKOW) — The eastbound Beltline ramp to southbound I-39/90 remains closed Thursday afternoon because of deteriorating road conditions discovered Wednesday night on the Interstate.

Significant delays are expected on southbound I-39/90 in the Madison area during this afternoon’s commute.

Beltline traffic is being detoured to Wisconsin Highway 73.

Emergency repair work on the southbound lane of I-39-90 just south of the Beltline exit is planned to begin this evening, according to the Wisconsin DOT.

Repairs are expected to be completed before the weekend, weather permitting.

The outside lane of southbound I-39/90 currently remains closed. The inside southbound lane remains open.

Motorists are urged to use alternate routes.
