Diving operations suspended in search for missing boy in Wisconsin River

ADAMS COUNTY (WKOW) — Diving operations have been suspended in the Wisconsin River after days of searching for an 11-year-old boy in Wisconsin Dells, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Sunday, Sheriff Brent York gave an update on the recovery effort for Jamison Owen Dean Miller of rural Grand Marsh. Miller went into the water in an area known as the Narrows Tuesday, June, 18 and did not resurface.

In a press release, authorities said extensive diving efforts have been made as well as the use of sonar units, Remote Operated Vehicles and other electronic devices.

Daily water searches will continue, but diving operations are being suspended.

York said many departments have been working to find Miller, including the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, Fort McCoy Fire Department, Juneau County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
