Dane County announces program for mental health and addiction recovery

Dane County leaders announced a major investment on Tuesday that will help further address mental health and addiction recovery.

Dane County Executive Joe Parisi announced a near $1 million increase in the county budget allocation to the two issues. $500,000 will fund a new grant program designed to enhance county services.

It will be named after C.J. Tubbs, the son of Dane County Emergency Director Charles Tubbs.

“These grants will be awarded early next year to provide direct assistance to those suffering from severe mental illness and addiction,” said Parisi.

An additional $365,000 will be allocated to various other programs that help address addiction recovery and mental health.
