PSC gives final approval to controversial power line project

The Wisconsin Public Service Commission on Thursday gave final approval to a controversial power line project that would cut across southwest Wisconsin.

The project received preliminary approval Aug. 20, 2019.

Three companies — American Transmission Company (ATC), ITC Midwest and Dairyland Power Cooperative — want to build the Cardinal-Hickory Creek Transmission Line Project, a 345-kilovolt power line that would go from Grant County, through Iowa County to Dane County.
