Three Madison police officers injured during arrest

Three Madison police officers were injured Thursday night trying to take a man into custody.

Police say Darius C. McClinton, 22, Madison, punched one officer in the head, and bit the arm of another, drawing blood at about 11 p.m. on the 2100 block of Aberg Avenue in Madison.

A third officer's head hit the pavement as he fell while trying to control McClinton.

McClinton called the officers derogatory names, screamed at them and said he would beat them, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.

Police say the came upon McClinton after he drove his girlfriend's car off of the roadway and into a trash can and recycling bin.

He did not have permission to be driving the car, police say.

McClinton was arrested and faces possible charges of three counts of battery to police officers, threats to injure, resisting, operating after revocation, and operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.
