Authorities seek truck owner in connection to Blue Mounds homicide

MOUNT HOREB (WKOW) -- Investigators with the Dane County Sheriff's Office released an image of a truck Wednesday in hopes it will lead them to the owner in connection to a homicide in the town of Blue Mounds last month.

A camera captured the dark-colored pick-up traveling west on Main Street in Mount Horeb around 1:45 p.m. Jan. 15, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

The body of Nicholas Day, 26, was discovered on County Highway JG near Bergum Road in the town of Blue Mounds. His death was later ruled a homicide.

Madison Area Crime Stoppers is now offering a $1000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Authorities said the truck's owner is not considered a suspect they think the person could have information.

Anyone who recognizes the truck should call the sheriff’s office tip line at (608) 284-6900 or the Dane County Communications Center at (608) 255-2345.
