COMMUNITY CENTER CLOSING

The East Madison Community Center will be closed starting Wednesday, March 18th through April 5th (tentative). The Center will reopen when Madison schools reopen. The food pantry will be open on Tuesday, March 17th from 12 pm to 2 pm for pickup of pre-packed food boxes. MADISON LIBRARIES TO CLOSE TUESDAY

All Madison Public Library locations will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 17. Programs, meetings, private events and mobile services are also canceled.

Library book drops will be closed, and customers are urged to keep library materials until libraries reopen. Due dates of checked out materials will be extended, and holds will be retained at libraries until libraries reopen.

HO-CHUNK MADISON TO CLOSE TUESDAY

Ho-Chunk Madison will close beginning Tuesday, March 17 at 7 a.m. Currently their plan is to reopen to the public on Wednesday, April 1st at 7 a.m., however, this date may change as this is a fluid situation, according to a Facebook post.

OLBRICH GARDENS IN MADISON CLOSES

MADISON, WIS. – Effective at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020, Olbrich Botanical Gardens is closed to the public at the recommendation of Public Health Madison & Dane County in order to help mitigate the spread of coronavirus (COVID‐19). ELTON JOHN POSTPONES

MILWAUKEE (WKOW — Elton John announced Monday that he will postpone his April 28 performance at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. A new date will be announced soon, according to a news release. All May 22 through July 8 performances remain as scheduled.MORE

WATERPARKS CLOSE

WISCONSIN DELLS (WKOW) -- Kalahari Resorts announced they will close their Wisconsin Dells location at 4:00PM on Wednesday March 18. According to their release, they plan to re-open on April 2. Company officials say "with the recent guidance from the Wisconsin officials restricting large gatherings, we have made the decision to temporarily close." FREE LUNCHES

MADISON (WKOW) -- Schools are closed but the Madison Metropolitan School District is providing free, nutritious meals for kids daily at sites around Madison. A take-home breakfast and lunch will be provided in pre-packaged paper bags at each drop-off site, once per day. A list of sites isHERE.

PRINCETON CLUBS CLOSE

MADISON (WKOW) -- All Princeton Club and Princeton Club Xpress locations in Madison are closed as of 11 p.m. on March 15. According to thecompany's website,the gym is closed in accordance with the Dane County ban on gathering groups over 50 people.

FITCHBURG (WKOW) -- Fitchburg's library will close beginning March 16 at 9 p.m. and will remain closed at least through April 5.

During the closure, the library asks people to not return items, as the book drop will be locked.

JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- AllYWCA Rock Countychild care services have been suspended following the closure of schools in Wisconsin.

“The safety of the children in our programs and our staff is our highest priority,” said Angela Moore, YWCA Rock County Executive Director.

(WKOW) --Great Wolf Lodgewill temporarily close all of their resorts starting March 16. They plan to re-open on April 2.

In a statement, Great Wolf Lodge said, "The health and safety of our guests and pack members is always our primary focus and it guides all decisions made at Great Wolf Lodge."

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Overture Center in Madisoncanceled two performancesin an effort to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.

The performances are the Forward Theater Company's presentation ofThe Amateursand The Madhatters' Spring 2020 Concert.

(WKOW) -- Epic Systems in Verona announced Friday it decided to cancel its spring XGM conference.

An internal communication to employeesdescribed the situation as "difficult." The company acknowledged the impact the conference has on the local economy.

(WKOW) -- Special Olympics Wisconsin canceled all sports practices, games and tournaments until early April.

"We regret to inform the Special Olympics Wisconsin community that all Special Olympics Wisconsin-affiliated sports training and competition activities through April 5 have been canceled as a precautionary measure against the spread of coronavirus. While this was a very difficult decision to make, the health and safety of our athletes, volunteers, staff and partners is our top priority," said a post on Facebook.

(WKOW) -- The National Weather Service has canceled all spring storm spotter classes due to fears of the coronavirus.

They still plan on hosting online webinars and will announce those dates later.
