Madison’s Overture Center announces staffing reductions

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Overture Center for the Arts announced to its employees Wednesday that the workforce will be reduced by 60 percent for the summer.

All staffing levels and every position are impacted in some way, according to a news release. The changes take effect July 5.

Some employees have been furloughed, laid off or have had their hours reduced, and some positions have been eliminated, according to a news release.

Overture expects to share additional information about their future plans, reopening scenarios and performance schedules next week.

The pandemic has seriously impacted Overture Center financially, according to the news release.

The financial impact of the pandemic for their fiscal year ending June 30, 2020 will be in the millions.
