IOWA COUNTY (WKOW) -- The 19-year-old man accused of shooting and killing his mother's husband is now headed to trial.
Austin Valdez was in court Thursday for his preliminary hearing and was bound over for trial. His arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
According to the criminal complaint, Valdez admitted to shooting Robin Reeson because he says Reeson was beating his mother. Valdez stands accused of second-degree reckless homicide.
The shooting happened at a home in Ridgeway in Iowa County on March 24.
