MADISON (WKOW) -- Prosecutors filed a new charge against the man accused of causing a deadly crash in downtown Madison.
Court records show Gavin Veium now faces a new homicide charge -- this one includes the modifier of use of a controlled substance. Veium also faces charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and second degree reckless homicide.
Previously, Veium was charged with two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and two counts of second degree reckless homicide.
Police say Veium was under the influence of psychedelic drugs when he hit an SUV driven by Diano McCullough.
McCullough died after the crash.
During his arraignment hearing on Wednesday, not guilty pleas were entered on Veium's behalf.
