Middleton police warn about leaving cars, homes unlocked

MIDDLETON (WKOW) -- The Middleton Police Department is reminding residents to lock cars, garages and homes after a rash of break-ins.

The department said there were several reports of thefts from cars, as well as two stolen vehicles over the weekend.

Officials said the crimes happened when vehicles, homes and garages were left unsecured and keys were left inside vehicles. In one instance, a vehicle was stolen after a suspect went into a home through an open garage door and took keys off the kitchen counter.

  • Wood Road
  • Baskerville Walk
  • Maywood Avenue
  • Sedgemeadow Road
  • John Muir Drive
  • Mandimus Court
  • Aldo Leopold Way

The Middleton Police Department is asking that you protect yourself and your property by locking your car, shutting your garage doors and locking all doors to your home.

If you know anything about any of these crimes, or if you ever see or hear anything suspicious, call or text Middleton Police at (608) 824-7300.
