Water rescues continue in Mazomanie following heavy flooding

MAZOMANIE (WKOW) -- Water rescues are continuing through the morning in Mazomanie following historic rains causing flooding overnight.

A significant portion of the village has been damaged by floodwaters.

Multiple water rescue teams are working to get people from homes into shelter.

Approximately 100 people are currently being sheltered at the Mazomanie Fire Station as a result of flooding.

The State of Wisconsin and Dane County will be conducting aerial surveillance over flood damaged parts of the area between noon and 3 p.m. this afternoon.
