UPDATE: Authorities have identified the man who was killed in the accident as 23 year old Carter Gehl of Madison.

TOWN OF BLOOMING (WKOW) -- One man is dead after crashing his car into a culvert.
Around 3:15 a.m. on Friday morning, Madison Fire and EMS went to Meier Road just north of Old Meier Road near the Town of Blooming Grove.
The driver was a 23-year-old man from Madison.
He was going north on Meier Road when he crossed the center line, traveled into a ditch and hit a culvert. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His name will be released once his family is notified.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
