Teen shot in leg when gun goes off on Metro bus

 Madison police say a teen was showing off a gun on a Metro bus, when it went off, hitting another teenager.

The victim in the shooting is a 17-year-old male. He was shot in the leg and taken to a local hospital with what is believed to be a non-life threatening injury.

Police are still looking for the suspect, described as a 16-year-old African American male, about 5’7″ and 130 pounds, wearing a black “do-rag,” a black hoodie, black pants and white tennis shoes. He ran away from the area and officers are still actively looking for him.

Police say the suspect was showing the firearm to the victim when it went off.

Madison police got a call just before 4pm today regarding a shots fired incident on a city bus at the intersection of Pflaum Rd and Monona Drive.  Police say a suspect is at large and one person has been transported to a hospital.  Three schools...La Follette high school, Sennett middle school and Monona Grove high school, are on lockdown
