Strong storms possible this afternoon & evening

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a “slight” level 2 risk for severe weather this afternoon and evening.

Areas in yellow, farther south and southeast are under the highest threat. Areas farther northwest will likely have no risk.

The main concern will be for high winds and possibly some small hail.

As a disturbance and cold front approach southern Wisconsin, showers and storms will develop in western sections first, then quickly march east before exiting in the early evening.

Timing: 2-7 PM (Madison 4-6 PM).
