The attorney for a homicide suspect has questioned his competency to stand trial.
Ted Bruno is accused of stabbing and killing his roommate, Kim Gaida, in Stoughton. Bruno claims he was stabbed first.
Bruno’s attorney Eric Schulenberg raised the issue of competency at a status conference Friday. Schulenberg tells 27 News he is keeping his reasoning confidential, but the court has granted an evaluation and scheduled a competency hearing for October 22.
The stabbing happened November 27, 2017 on Felland Street in Stoughton. Court records show Gaida was stabbed at least 10 times.
