IOWA COUNTY (WKOW) – Sheriff’s records show the blood alcohol level of Iowa County’s district attorney approached three times the state’s legal limit when he was arrested for drunken driving last month.
Grant County Sheriff’s records also show in addition to having a blood alcohol level of 0.21, Larry E. Nelson fell down during his Sept. 16 contact with deputies. Reports state Nelson failed field sobriety tests.
Authorities made contact with Nelson in the town of Mineral Point in Iowa County, but Grant County sheriff’s investigators were requested by Iowa County deputies to handle the first offense drunk driving case to avoid any potential conflict of interest.
Nelson has a court hearing scheduled in Iowa County Nov. 5.
