Arrests made after woman was attacked and robbed in Madison

MADISON (WKOW) — The Madison Police Department arrested three people late Wednesday after hurting a woman, taking her purse, stealing her car and crashing it.

A woman, 58, was walking to her car in a parking lot in the 6900 block of Odana Road at about 10 p.m.

Two people approached her and told her that her vehicle was damaged. When she went to check it out, she was attacked by the suspects. The victim tried to run but was tripped, kicked and struck multiple times.

The suspects grabbed the woman’s purse and keys, hopped in the car and drove away.

It took several hours for officers to track down the suspects. At about 2:30 a.m. police reported three people were arrested after the stolen vehicle was found crashed on Seminole Road. The suspects were not hurt in the crash.

The victim in the strong-armed robbery needed medical attention.

The investigation is ongoing.
