MADISON (WKOW) — Even though the doors opened more than five hours before and many had already eaten their Thanksgiving meals, the crowds were still alive and well at Kohl’s well into the night.
“Well look at it all, seriously, it’s just like an adrenaline rush, it really is,” Jeanette Berry, at Best Buy with her daughter, said.
Shoppers filled stores across Madison Thursday, with doors opening around 5 p.m. at Best Buy and Kohl’s.
Everyone looking for the right thing for the holidays.
“Some TVs, a computer, some video games and movies,” Karen Jensen-Paul, the first person in line at Best Buy, listed.
“An Instant-Pot, air fryer, clothes,” Kassie Jenkins, at Kohl’s with her daughters, said. “Whatever we can find.”
The mother-daughter duo of Berry and Amanda Olson have been waiting in lines for Black Friday for a combined many decades.
“Oh we go everywhere,” Olson, said.
“We start at whatever’s open first and then and we keep working our way to wherever’s open next,” Berry said “We map it out and we’ll probably be here until Menards opens [Friday] at 6.”
While the crowds were searching high and low for all the deals they could find, part of the enjoyment has nothing to do with what you can buy.
“It’s always worthwhile doing this,” Jensen Paul said. “It’s actually like a little tradition that we do, it’s a lot of fun.”
