MADISON (WKOW) – A winter storm watch is in effect Sunday morning through Sunday night as the likelihood of a snow storm increases.
Snow totals could exceed six inches in the heaviest bands, and with winds over 30 mph driving conditions Sunday afternoon and evening will be very difficult.
This system still has very high uncertainty on exact location, but we do know there will be a large snowstorm impacting parts of southern WI. At this point there is still a higher likelihood of a major snow event just to the south of Madison.
A few models continue to keep the storm system through Dane county, which means there is a chance more counties get added to the Watch.
Because of the uncertainty, everyone in southern WI needs to prepare for a winter storm, even if you are not in the watch.
