Crews investigate late night Fitchburg fire

UPDATE (WKOW) — A home is damaged after a fire broke out late Thursday night.

Fitchburg fire officials tell us the blaze started shortly after 11 p.m. at a home in the 3000 block of Woods Edge Way in Fitchburg.

Multiple fire stations responded, including Verona, Madison and Oregon.

Authorities said no one was badly hurt. One person received minor cuts.

Neighbors reported hearing a loud boom before the fire.

Crews are sifting through the damage, investigating the cause of the fire. They said they’re still trying to figure out if an explosion was the cause of the fire or just an effect.
