Man stabbed in the face overnight in Janesville

JANESVILLE (WKOW) — Janesville Police say a man was stabbed in the face with a steak knife early Thursday morning.

Police say it happened on the 1500 block of Mole Ave., at around 2:30 A.M.

When they arrived on scene — officers say they found a man leaning over a kitchen sink with a steak knife stuck in his face.

Both the victim and the suspect, 46-year-old Maria L. Johnson, said the injury was an accident.

After further investigation, Johnson was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Reckless Injury, and Domestic Violence.

The victim, who hasn’t been identified, is expected to survive.
