(WKOW) — A vehicle hit a 12-year-old girl downtown Madison Thursday evening.
Just before 5:45 p.m., Madison police were sent to East Washington Ave and First St. for a motor vehicle versus pedestrian accident.
When police got there, they found the girl had been hit. She was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Eventually, the driver did come forward to speak with police.
The driver was charged with hit and run causing injury.
