16-year-old arrested after attacking Madison Metro Bus driver

MADISON (WKOW) — Madison police say they’ve arrested a teenage girl after she allegedly attacked a Madison Metro Bus driver late Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the 16-year-old grabbed the arms of a 48-year-old woman driver and pulled her by the hair. They say at the time of the assault, the driver had stopped her bus on West Broadway at Fayette Avenue around 4:45 p.m. in an attempt to break up a fight between two other girls.

Video shows the 16-year-old trying to stop the bus driver from intervening so that the fight may continue, according to police. They say in the end, the driver prevailed and the teens ran from the bus.

Police found the 16-year-old and arrested for battery to public transit operator and disorderly conduct. They say a 13-year-old girl, who was part of the original fight, was also cited for battery and disorderly conduct.
